Our experienced radiology team is here to help answer any questions about your imaging appointment, preparation requirements, or what to expect during your scan.

Do I need a referral?

Yes, all imaging services require a written referral from an authorised referrer. This includes GPs, specialists, chiropractors, physiotherapists, osteopaths, and podiatrists. Bring your referral with you on the day, or ask your doctor to send it through electronically and we will have it on file when you arrive.

 

For ultrasound and pregnancy scans, you will need to book ahead so we can allocate the right time and make sure you are properly prepared. You can book online or call us directly.

 

Most of our services are bulk billed with a valid Medicare card and referral. Some services such as pregnancy ultrasound may have a gap fee. If there is any out-of-pocket cost for your specific service, we will always let you know before your appointment — no surprises.

 

Ultrasound appointments typically run 20 to 30 minutes. Pregnancy scans may take a little longer depending on the stage and type of assessment. We will give you a time estimate when you book.

 

We aim to have your report with your referring doctor within 24 hours. Urgent cases are prioritised for same-day reporting. Results go directly to the doctor who referred you — book a follow-up with them to discuss the findings and next steps.

 

In most cases, yes. As long as the referral is not addressed to a specific doctor by name, you are free to choose where you have your imaging done. If you are unsure, give us a call and we will sort it out.
